Lower Bail Denied in Shul Firebombing Case

HACKENSACK, N.J. (AP) —

One of the two men accused in a series of firebomb attacks on shuls across northern New Jersey will have to come up with $4 million to get out of jail after a judge denied a request for lower bail.

Aakash Dalal, a 21-year-old New Brunswick resident, and Anthony Graziano have pleaded not guilty to aggravated arson, conspiracy and bias intimidation charges. Dalal also is accused of conspiring to kill the assistant prosecutor handling his case.

Prosecutors allege he helped plan the attacks that Graziano carried out. Dalal’s lawyer argued that point on Thursday and said he had obtained more than 750 signatures from people in support of his client.
