Chaim Deutsch Gets Assembly Backing for Council Bid

BROOKLYN (Hamodia) —

Assemblywoman Rhoda Jacobs announced Friday her endorsement of Shomrim of Flatbush founder Chaim Deutsch in his bid to represent the 48th City Council district, which includes sections of Midwood, Sheepshead Bay, Brighton Beach and Manhattan Beach.

“I am proud to stand behind Chaim Deutsch in his election campaign,” Jacobs said. “Over the years, I have come to consider him a true partner in our work to make Brooklyn a better place to work and live.

Jacobs cited Deutch’s “tireless efforts” on behalf of the various communities, which she said “transcend differences in backgrounds or beliefs.”

Deutsch is chief of staff to incumbent Councilman Mike Nelson, but faces stiff competition is a newly redrawn seat that added thousands of Russian immigrants.
