The switch to Muni Meters almost complete, the Department of Transportation plans to complete their removal of the old parking meters in Boro Park and Midwood in the coming weeks.
Assemblyman Dov Hikind (D-Brooklyn) said Tuesday that the passing of this urban icon has an upside that the city will be able to squeeze a few more cars onto each block.
But the downside is that it’s important to remember where you have to pay for parking. Drivers who do not see parking meters may not realize that there’s a blue Muni Meter tower taking their place.
As parking meters disappear from view, drivers need to pay close attention to street signs and look for Muni Meter tickets in cars parked on the same block.
