Thousands of Women to Gather at Kosel This Morning
Thousands of women, including seminary students, are expected to go to the Kosel this morning, arriving at 6:30 a.m. Israel time to daven and say Tehillim. The goal of this initiative, which is supported by Gedolei Yisrael, is to hold a quiet gathering and make a kiddush Hashem — to show that no court ruling or provocative action is going to change the commitment that Torah Jews have to the Torah way of life.
The Egged bus company announced that buses will begin their routes at 5:30 a.m. Rabbi Yosef Deitch and Rabbi Shlomo Rosenstein, City Council and UTJ members, said that the logistics of arranging this gathering were not simple, as there was little time in which to prepare. The organizers expressed their hope that the world would learn who were the women loyal to the timeless sanctity of the Wall.
