Carl Paladino on Buffalo Schools Ballot

BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) —

Outspoken former gubernatorial candidate Carl Paladino is vying for a seat on Buffalo’s school board in Tuesday’s election.

Paladino lost his bid as the Republican nominee for governor to Andrew Cuomo. He’s now up against a teacher’s aide for an open seat on the Buffalo Board of Education.

Paladino says he doesn’t have any children in the public school system but that he’s running for the sake of the community. He lists as issues a high number of failing schools and students’ poor performance on state standardized tests.
