Process of Shutting Tent City Begins
Lakewood Township officials on Thursday began taking a census of Tent City’s homeless in an effort to move ahead with closing the area, TheLakewoodScoop.com reported.
According to the terms of the agreement, the township would only provide placement for those who resided in the encampment at the time of the settlement, and would exclude any newcomers.
Mayor Isaac Ackerman said that the process could take a few months, but hopefully no longer than a year.
