Battling a Fire at Park Lachish

In a blaze that broke out Monday around noon near an IDF base in Beit Guvrin, some 20 firefighting units plus six aircraft were deployed, but not before about 30,000 dunams [nearly 12 square miles] were burned, Ynet reported. The Beit Guvrin fire also spread to Moshav Lachish and police evacuated nearby Park Lachish until the flames were extinguished.
