Free Shredding Event Ideal Opportunity to Destroy Sensitive Documents
Pesach cleaning has set in for real throughout Brooklyn, and this year, Boro Park residents can safely get rid of even more excess paper, thanks to the free shredders that will be available this Sunday, March 3, at the Boro Park Y.
The “shred-in,” to be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., will employ a shredding truck through arrangement with Shred Up, a commercial shredding company, and provides a unique opportunity for community members to shred sensitive documents.
“I’ve warned people in the past to be very careful with their personal documents because identity theft is so prevalent,” said the Assemblyman. “This event is a terrific opportunity for people to bring personal records that they no longer need — such as bank statements and tax information — and have them safely destroyed.”
