Christie Gets Second Dem Mayor Endorsement

SEA BRIGHT, N.J. (AP) —

A second Democratic mayor in New Jersey is backing Republican Gov. Chris Christie in his bid for election to a second term.

Christie was in the shore town of Sea Bright on Thursday to be endorsed by Mayor Dina Long. Last month he got the nod from Democratic Mayor Raymond McDonough of Harrison.

Long says the governor has been there for Sea Bright since the town was devastated by Sandy. He’s visited several times during the recovery.

Long worked for two former Democratic governors, Jon Corzine and Jim McGreevey. She plans to remain a Democrat despite her support for Christie.
