Office of Pupil Transportation Wraps Up Post-Strike Details

The following memo was sent to school principals and transportation coordinators by the Jewish Liaison to the Office of Pupil Transportation:

Baruch Hashem, we are all happy that the school bus strike is over. We expect full bus service on Wednesday February 20.

Just as with the first days of school after Hurricane Sandy, there may be disruptions for families, and we ask for everyone’s patience and understanding.

Students in Special Ed who were assigned a new bus route as a result of the strike will now go back to their regular route (what they had before the strike).

OPT is requesting that all schools should collect the strike-elated MetroCards (both student and parent cards) ….

The last day for which OPT will reimburse is Tuesday February 19. There be no reimbursements for days after Tuesday, February 19.

OPT will continue to accept reimbursement forms for cabs and car services used during the strike, as well as reimbursement forms for gas mileage. All reimbursement forms should be submitted within the next 30 days.

Families are encouraged to get these forms in as soon as possible, so that they can be processed and paid.
