Rabbi Yehuda Chaimov, z”l, of Sderot
The sudden death of Rabbi Yehuda Chaimov, z”l, 50, in a traffic accident on Thursday night plunged the Bucharian community of Sderot into mourning.
The revered Rav of the community lost his life in an accident which took place at an exit from the city near the Osem factory close to 11 p.m. on Thursday when his car crashed into a stop light. A passenger in the car was also injured, though not seriously.
A Magen Dovid Adom unit administered first aid at the scene and then took them to Barzalai hospital in Ashkelon. However, efforts by hospital staff to save the Rav’s life were to no avail, and he was niftar shortly after.
The levayah was held at the Sderot cemetery on Friday. Rabbi Chaimov leaves a widow and seven orphans.
