N.J. State Agencies Affected By Computer Outages
A service interruption at a state data center is affecting the websites and computers of several state agencies.
Treasury Department spokesman Bill Quinn says several departmental computer systems crashed Thursday afternoon due to a power interruption at the state’s data center.
Quinn says power has been restored and technicians will work as late as necessary Thursday to try and get all the systems back online by Friday morning.
Quinn says the outage affected a number of servers of agencies that provide services to the public, including motor vehicle services, workers’ compensation and unemployment benefits.
Motor vehicle offices across the state had to close an hour early Thursday because their computers went down.
Quinn says members of the public should check state agency websites Friday morning for updates.
