Man in Stable Condition After Midtown Stabbing

NEW YORK

One man is in stable condition with three knife wounds, and another is in a Manhattan jail facing an attempted-murder charge, following a verbal dispute in Midtown on Monday afternoon.

Shortly after 1:30 p.m. Monday, 22-year-old Tyquan Bailey engaged in a dispute with an unidentified man, aged 28, across the street from the Empire State Building, according to the NYPD and the Manhattan District Attorney’s office.

Bailey, who was wearing a FedEx uniform, then stabbed the other man multiple times.

Nate Ford, a witness, wrote on Twitter that “the attacker was like 6’3″ and big and the victim was like 5’8″ tops and skinny.”

“It was so bizarre and disturbing,” wrote Ford.

The victim was taken to Bellevue Hospital with two stab wounds and a slash across his back that required immediate surgery. He is in stable condition.

Bailey was arrested Monday, and arraigned Tuesday in Manhattan Criminal Court on charges of attempted murder, assault, attempted assault and harassment. He was ordered held on $100,000 bail.
