Israel Hits Syria Target After Mortar Shell Lands in Golan

YERUSHALAYIM

In what was apparently the latest case of spillover fire from Syria, a mortar shell landed in the Israeli Golan Heights on Monday. B’chasdei Shamayim, no injuries were reported.

The army targeted an artillery position of Syrian dictator Bashar Assad’s forces, located in the area from which the mortar originated.

“The IDF sees the Syrian regime as responsible for every action in its territory and will not tolerate violations of the sovereignty of the State of Israel and the security of its citizens,” the army said in a statement.
