Father and Son Victims of Armed Home Invasion in Montreal
A middle-aged man along with his elderly father, a Holocaust survivor, were the victims of a brutal home invasion, Wednesday night in Montreal. The intruders believed that a business involving large sums of money was conducted from this location, and demanded that the money be handed over. The home inhabitants denied that any such business had been conducted there in years and as such had no substantial sum of money to hand over.
The two robbers, who were later joined by a third, tied the younger man up and repeatedly threatened him and hit him in an attempt to coerce him to cooperate. They finally despaired and took whatever valuables they could find and left. The man managed to free himself shortly thereafter and summoned the authorities, but the criminals were long gone; he is said to have suffered only minor injuries. An investigation is ongoing.
