Fast Train to Yerushalayim to Start Running by Pesach

The fast train from Tel Aviv to Yerushalayim should be ready to roll as of Pesach, The Times of Israel quoted Transportation Minister Yisrael Katz as saying on Tuesday.

A specific date was not given, but this year Pesach begins on the evening of March 30.

For its first three months, travel on the route will be free of charge, according to Hadashot.

Under construction since 2001, at a project cost of more than 7 billion shekels, the line is expected to enable travel between Israel’s capital and its commercial hub in as little as 28 minutes.
