Abbas Calls Father of Girl Who Slapped Soldier

YERUSHALAYIM -

Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas made a personal phone call to the father of Ahed Tamimi, a Palestinian teen who is being held in detention after slapping and kicking an IDF soldier, The Times of Israel reported on Wednesday.

The call was intended to boost the morale of the Tamimi family, which is notorious for their filmed provocations of IDF soldiers and support for terrorism.

Abbas told her father, Bassem al-Tamimi, that she is in good health in prison and praised his family’s “peaceful marches against the occupation,” the PA’s official news agency Wafa reported.
