Repaving of Brooklyn’s Cratered Streets Begins Monday

Grooved and cratered from the winter, the repaving of some of Boro Park and Flatbush’s worst roads begins on Monday, now that many residents are away for the summer and streets are less crowded with traffic.

On Monday, 17th Avenue will be closed for milling between 57th and 61st streets. In Midwood, Ave. K will be repaved on Monday and Tuesday from Ocean Parkway to Coney Island Ave.

Ocean Parkway’s service roads — on both sides of the boulevard — will be resurfaced on Wednesday and Thursday. The side roads will be closed from Elmwood Avenue until Ave. P.

Also getting work on Thursday is Boro Park’s 47th Street, from 15th Ave. through Foster Ave.; Elmwood Ave. from McDonald Ave. until Ocean Parkway; and East 2nd Street, from Caton Ave. until Ave. J. This will continue through Friday.
