Highest High-Rise in Israel Ready for Occupancy
The newest holder of the title “Israel’s Tallest Building,” the Azrieli Sarona tower, has announced it is ready for occupancy.
The 64-story tower stands 782 feet high, edging out the previous tallest building, Ramat Gan’s Aviv Tower, near the Diamond Exchange, by 10.5 feet.
The Azrieli Sarona is located just south of the Azrieli Towers on Menachem Begin Road in Tel Aviv. The building cost Azrieli Group Ltd. (TASE: AZRG) NIS 1.6 billion to construct and includes 61 floors of offices above three commercial floors and seven levels of underground parking that can accommodate 1,250 vehicles.
Most of the tenants, who are already beginning to move in, will be high-tech companies. Amazon will be the largest tenant, with 11 floors, while Facebook is reportedly in talks to move its Israel headquarters into the tower from its current overcrowded offices in Rothschild Boulevard.
