Palestinian Authority sources said Monday that nine Arabs had been injured in Yerushalayim late Sunday during a funeral. According to the PA’s Ma’an news agency, the Arabs were injured by rubber bullets and stun grenades, and needed to be hospitalized. Two dozen other people were injured and treated on site. Police had no comment on the report.

Meanwhile, security forces detained on Monday night nine illegal Arab workers who were staying in an apartment in Carmiel. As police moved in to raid the apartment, the workers took refuge and tried to hide – with police finding one worker hidden inside the refrigerator in the apartment, one in an oven in the kitchen, others in closets and under the kitchen sink. The workers, ages 17-24, are residents of Shechem, Jenin and Ramallah.

Overnight Sunday, security officials said they arrested 17 wanted security suspects in other areas in Yehudah and Shomron. The suspects were wanted for participating in rioting and throwing stones and firebombs that endangered Israeli civilians and IDF soldiers. Several of the suspects were also charged with belonging to Hamas. All were being questioned on their activities by security forces.
