Soldiers Arrest Woman With Knife at Kever Rochel

IDF forces on Wednesday afternoon arrested an Arab woman who was found to be carrying a knife near Kever Rochel in Beit Lechem. The woman aroused the suspicions of soldiers. She was stopped and searched, and arrested without incident. Security officials were questioning her on her motives.

Overnight Tuesday, Yerushalayim police arrested three Arab residents of the city on suspicion of being the masterminds of a huge gang of house thieves. Police raided the residence of the three brothers and discovered a large amount of stolen merchandise, including jewelry, some of which they were able to link to property crimes in the city. Several of the suspects have been arrested on similar charges in the past. Police planned to ask for an extension of their remand in court later Wednesday.

Overnight Tuesday, security officials said they arrested 16 wanted security suspects in other areas in Yehudah and Shomron. The suspects were wanted for participating in rioting and throwing stones and firebombs that endangered Israeli civilians and IDF soldiers. Several of the suspects were also charged with belonging to Hamas. All were being questioned on their activities by security forces.
