NYC Budget Includes Record Funding for Holocaust Survivors

BROOKLYN

New York City’s budget finalized Friday includes a record $3 million in funding for needy Holocaust survivors, doubled from the previous year, announced Councilmen Rafael Espinal Jr. and David Greenfield, two Brooklyn Democrats.

The money will be distributed to survivors through 20 separate groups, including the Boro Park JCC and COJO of Flatbush.

Among the nonprofits that will distribute the funding is the Met Council, which awarded Mr. Greenfield the “Met Council Partner Award” at a ceremony Sunday.
