IDF troops overnight Thursday arrested two Arabs who participated in a riot in Hawara, north of Shechem, earlier in the day. An Israeli shot and killed an Arab as dozens of rioting Arabs descended on his vehicle, intent on pulling him out of the car and lynching him. Large numbers of IDF soldiers descended on the scene of the incident, breaking up the riot before they could carry out their plan

Also arrested was the driver of an ambulance who blocked the highway, cutting off the escape route of the Israeli, in order to enable the mob to kill him. The IDF has confiscated the ambulance, as well as a bus that was used to transport the rioters to the site, a central square in Hawara.

Overnight Thursday, security officials said they arrested 4 wanted security suspects in other areas in Yehudah and Shomron. The suspects were wanted for participating in rioting and throwing stones and firebombs that endangered Israeli civilians and IDF soldiers. Several of the suspects were also charged with belonging to Hamas. All were being questioned on their activities by security forces.
