Hikind Proposes Solution to Boro Park Traffic Jams
A Brooklyn lawmaker is proposing that stores along Boro Park’s main thoroughfares of 13th, 16th and 18th avenues be offered financial incentives to change delivery schedules to off hours to reduce the congestion during peak traffic hours.
Assemblyman Dov Hikind met Thursday with city transit officials to discuss his solution, which is already in place in Manhattan.
“Implementing a program like this … would be a first for the outer boroughs,” Hikind said. “It would improve the standard of living for everyone in our community.”
