Doorman Dies After Falling Through Glass Window While Shoveling Snow

NEW YORK

A doorman on the Upper East Side died in a horrific accident Thursday morning, as he fell through a glass window while shoveling snow.

Miguel Angel Gonzalez, 59, of Bridgeport, Connecticut, was shoveling snow around 9:30 a.m. Thursday at 333 East 93rd Street, between 1st and 2nd Avenues, according to the NYPD. He appears to have slipped down a flight of basement stairs and crashed through a glass window, cutting his neck and face.

Gonzalez was taken to Metropolitan Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
