Pres. Trump, Clinton, Sanders Owe Albany Over $80K
New York’s capital city is owed more than $80,000 by President Donald Trump, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Sen. Bernie Sanders collectively.
Albany billed the three candidates in April along with Ohio Gov. John Kasich for security services during the presidential campaign. Kasich is the only candidate to have repaid his debt, sending over $900 shortly after being billed. City officials say President Trump owes $56,405, Clinton owes $14,590 and Sanders owes $8,400.
Staffs of the respective campaigns have blamed the cost overruns on the Secret Service. But the federal agency says the bills should be absorbed by the budget of either Albany city or county.
