BDE: Harav Yosef Strassfeld, zt”l, Rosh Yeshiva of Englewood Yeshiva
Harav Yosef Strassfeld, founder and Rosh Yeshiva of Yeshiva Ohr Simcha of Englewood, New Jersey, was niftar Sunday morning after a two-year-long illness. He was in his upper-60’s.
According to his bio on the yeshiva website, Rav Strassfeld, a close talmid of Rav Shmuel Kamenetzky, founded the Englewood Yeshiva in 1997. Rav Strassfeld was a warm and dedicated rebbi, who built a close personal relationship with each of his talmidim. Many of his talmidim still spoke with Rav Strassfeld on a constant basis, even years after they left the yeshiva.
The levayah was Sunday at the yeshiva, 101 W. Forest Ave, Englewood, N.J., followed by kevurah in Lakewood.
