Iron Tunnel Beams Seized en Route to Hamas
The Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT), the Shin Bet and the Defense Ministry crossings authorities have thwarted an attempt to smuggle iron beams into the Gaza Strip through the Kerem Shalom crossing.
The iron beams, which were to be used in the construction of terror tunnels, were brought to the entry point in a truck carrying shelving for stores in Gaza.
In accordance with the recent stiffening of sanctions against smugglers, the truck’s entire load was confiscated by the Israeli authorities, and the driver was taken for questioning.
