Cuomo’s Ex-Aide Indicted in Federal Fraud Case
A former top adviser for Gov. Andrew Cuomo and seven other people were indicted Tuesday in a federal corruption case.
The indictment charges Joe Percoco and the others with crimes including fraud conspiracy, bribery and extortion. The most serious allegations are against Percoco, formerly Cuomo’s executive deputy secretary and one of his most loyal advisers.
Percoco allegedly took $315,000 in bribes from 2012 through 2016 from a Syracuse-based energy company in return for rigging the state bidding process in their favor.
