Beam Falls at Queens Construction Site, Killing 2 Construction Workers

Two construction workers in Queens were killed Tuesday afternoon when a beam being hoisted by a crane at a construction site fell, crushing them, the NYPD says.

The incident occurred shortly after noon at 134th Street, between 82nd Ave. and Grand Central Parkway, in the Kew Gardens neighborhood of Queens.

The NYPD is describing the victims only as a 47-year-old male and a 43-year-old male.

The incident, which occurred on a windy day in New York, will be investigated by the NYC Department of Buildings.
