An El Al departure to Newark was cancelled on Sunday, a casuality of the ongoing labor battle between the airlines management and its pilots, Arutz Sheva reported Sunday night.

El Al flight LY 027, which was scheduled to take off from Ben Gurion Airport for Newark, New Jersey at 00:30 Monday morning, was cancelled. The airline explained it was because the pilots refused to fly in both directions.

The company promised to issue refunds to passengers.

The pilots asserted there were enough qualified crew members available to carry out the flight, adding they had warned about the harm that would be caused to the customers due to the unsettled labor issues.
