Ramming Attack in Gush Etzion

Three Israeli soldiers were lightly wounded on Wednesday afternoon in a vehicular ramming attack as they rode in a military jeep near Naveh Daniel in Gush Etzion.

Relatives of the Palestinian driver denied it was an act of terrorism, claiming that it was an accident in which he lost control of his car just before it hit the IDF jeep.

B’chasdei Shamayim, the soldiers emerged from the crash with only minor injuries, despite the fact that their jeep was hit so hard it flipped over and that it took some time for the IDF unit that came to their aid to extract them from their vehicle.

The soldiers received medical treatment at the scene, while the Palestinian driver was evacuated to hospital with moderate head injuries.

The incident was only one of many attacks and attempted attacks that took place in the last 24 hours in Yehudah and Shomron. Among them: A firebomb was thrown at an Israeli ambulance traveling near the Halhoul junction, south of Chevron; no injuries were reported. Not far from there, rocks and firebombs were hurled at an Egged bus en route from Yerushalayim to Chevron; the bus was damaged but no one was hurt.
