Free Bike Helmets to Be Distributed at Flatbush Event
Bikers in Flatbush will be eligible for a free helmet and helmet fitting this Sunday. The event is open to the public, with helmets available for adults and children at Friends Field Park at Avenue L and East 4th Street between noon and 3:30 p.m.
The event is hosted by Councilman David Greenfield and the NYC Department of Transportation. Hundreds of helmets will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last. A parent is required to sign a waiver for all children under age 18.
“Riding a bike is a great way to have fun and get exercise while you do it,” Greenfield said. “Everyone who rides a bike should wear a helmet for safety.”
