New Connection Opens at WTC Transportation Hub

NEW YORK (AP) —

A new connection opened Thursday at the World Trade Center Transportation Hub, providing PATH riders with direct connections to nine New York City subway lines without exiting the station.

The Dey Street Connection to Fulton Center is a depot for the 2, 3, 4, 5, A, C, J, Z and R lines. Officials say links to the E and No. 1 subway lines will be available in the coming months.

The station’s grand hall, called the Oculus, was designed to evoke a bird in flight. It replaced a commuter station connecting Manhattan to New Jersey that was destroyed in the 9/11 attacks.
