Street Closings in Boro Park Due to Lag BaOmer Parade
Much of Boro Park’s southeastern portion will be closed on Thursday to accommodate the annual Lag BaOmar parade, according to Community Board 12 manager Barry Spitzer.
Two avenues — 17th and 18th — will be affected by the closures.
The parade’s regular route down 18th Avenue will be changed this year due to construction in the 18th Avenue Park. Instead, it will proceed down 17th Ave., where streets from 51st to 58th will be closed from 3:15 until 4:30. Eighteenth Ave. will be blocked off by police from 53rd Street until 60th Street, beginning at 11:00 a.m. and ending at 7:00 p.m. to allow time to set up for the event.
Schools bus routes may be affected by the closures. Parents should be in contact with the schools.
