Stabbing Attack Prevented in Chevron

Border Guards early Friday morning arrested a 26-year old Arab who was carrying a knife near a checkpoint in Chevron. According to security officials, the Arab, who was detained, said under questioning that he had planned to carry out a stabbing attack at the checkpoint.

The Arab, a Chevron resident, arrived at the checkpoint on foot, and soldiers on patrol demanded that he halt. Searching him, they officers found the knife.

Overnight Thursday, security officials said they arrested 10 wanted security suspects in Yehudah and Shomron. The suspects were wanted for participating in rioting and throwing stones and firebombs that endangered Israeli civilians and IDF soldiers. Several of the suspects were also charged with belonging to Hamas.
