Missing Israeli Found Dead in Hungary
The body of Ofer Gross, an Israeli who had been missing in Hungary for over a week, has been found, police in that country informed the Foreign Ministry on Motzoei Shabbos. An Israeli team has been dispatched to Hungary in order to identify Gross.
Family members last heard from Gross over a week ago, when he told them that he was planning to spend time with an acquaintance from the town of Tisatzka. Family members had contacted police and the Foreign Ministry already at the beginning of Chol Hamoed, concerned that he had not been in contact with them for several days.
Police have opened an investigation into the incident. The acquaintance that Gross was to have visited claimed that he did not show up. Police did not comment on the condition of Gross’s body or whether he appeared to be the victim of violence.
After identification, Gross’s body will be released for burial in Israel. Gross, in his 40s, was from Yerushalayim.
