Report: Major Terror Attack Averted With PA Gang’s Arrest

Israeli security officials said Motzoei Shabbos they had arrested three Arab terrorists who were on their way to carry out a major terror attack in an Israeli city. The three – from Jenin, Chevron and the Yerushalayim area – were caught carrying weapons and chemicals, which they planned to use in an attack, said the officials.

The arrest took place over the weekend. According to Israel Radio, the terrorists left Ramallah on Thursday in order to carry out the attack in Israel. Israeli security officials had been tracking the group for several weeks, the report said. The terrorists had drawn attention to themselves because of their purchase of the chemicals and other items that were to be used in the attack. The Israelis also received information about the group’s activities from Palestinian Authority security services.

Despite the information, the group managed to leave Ramallah on Thursday night, on its way to Israel when, b’chasdei Shamayim, it was apprehended.
