Netanyahu Appoints New English-Language Spokesman

YERUSHALAYIM

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu chose David Keyes to succeed Mark Regev as his English-language spokesman on Monday.

Regev was named as the next Israeli ambassador to London.

According to a statement issued by the PMO, the two will take up their positions “very soon.”

Keyes, 32, a Los Angeles native, received an undergraduate degree in Middle Eastern studies from UCLA, and pursued a master’s degree in diplomacy at Tel Aviv University. He came to Israel with his family at 23, and served in the Foreign Relations Unit of the IDF.

Keyes “thanked the prime minister for his trust” and said it was a “great privilege to serve Israel, especially in light of the many challenges faced by the nation,” the PMO stated.

Keyes is fluent in Hebrew, English and Arabic.
