Lakewood Firefighters Put Out Large Fire at Yeshivah Dorm Building

Lakewood firefighters managed to fully douse a fire that had engulfed a yeshivah dormitory building early Monday morning.

The fire broke out in the East 9th Street area at around 6 a.m. There were, b’chasdei Shamayim, no reports of injuries.

The building was a dormitory for bachurim of a local yeshivah.

The blaze was brought under control around 6:30 a.m, leaving the home destroyed.

The fire reportedly started from a heater. The Fire Marshal’s office is investigating.
