IMPORTANT NOTICE: Upcoming 56-Hour Continuous Closure on the Harlem River/GWB Ramp

Upcoming 56-hour continuous closure on the Trans-Manhattan Expressway (TME) Connector Ramp.

Please note that this weekend, beginning at 12:01AM Saturday January 16, NYC DOT will begin the interim rehabilitation of the TME. This urgent work will require the full closure of the southbound roadway linking the George Washington Bridge to the Harlem River Drive – and – the closure of one of two lanes on the northbound roadway linking the Harlem River Drive to the GW Bridge access ramp.

Southbound Alternates

From the GW Bridge, motorists may use the southbound Henry Hudson Parkway or continue eastbound over the Alexander Hamilton Bridge to the southbound Major Deegan Expressway. To access the Harlem River Drive for destinations further south in Manhattan, motorists may use the Macombs Dam Bridge, Madison Avenue Bridge or Third Avenue Bridges.

Northbound Alternates

Motorists may continue on the Harlem River Drive to Dyckman Street and then south on Broadway to 179th to access the GW Bridge – OR – motorists may exit the Harlem River Drive at the 8th Avenue/W155th Street exit and use Amsterdam Avenue northbound for bridge access.
