An Israeli was lightly wounded in a shooting incident as he drove past the Jit intersection near Kedumim in the Shomron on Sunday afternoon.

The driver, 46, was hit by shrapnel in his hand, but was able to continue driving to a nearby IDF base, where he was treated by medics and then transported to Meir Hospital in Kfar Saba.

The terrorists, driving a white Fiat Punto with Israeli license plates, fled after the shooting, in the direction of the Gilead junction. IDF forces were searching the area.

“The shooting at Jit Intersection near Kedumim joins a chain of attacks against civilians and soldiers,” Hanenal Dorani, head of the Kedumim Regional Council, said in response to the attack.

“I call on the Israeli government to intensify our hold on Yehudah and Shomron through building permits in all of the communities and to strengthen the IDF to continue to act vigorously in places from which terrorists come.”

The incident followed another terrorist attack on the roads, as an Arab driver tried to run over a group of soldiers who were standing at the Hakvasim junction on Mount Chevron on Motzoei Shabbos. One of the soldiers was lightly injured in his foot.
