NJ May Allow Sale of Home-Baked Goods
New Jersey residents could soon be allowed to sell baked goods made at home.
The state Senate’s Health, Human Services and Senior Citizens Committee considered a bill Monday that permits residents to sell home-baked goods. They would have to have a placard indicating the items were not subject to state inspection.
Sen. Christopher Bateman says 47 other states have similar laws and the measure would allow hobbyists to earn extra money. The measure passed the Assembly unanimously last year.
