CM Deutsch: Join a Local Community Board
If you are at least 16 years old and want to make a difference in your community, consider joining a local community board, says Councilman Chaim Deutsch.
There are three CB’s within Deutsch’s district. Each has 50 non-salaried members, with half nominated by the local Council member and selected by the borough president.
The 59 Community Boards throughout the city help deliver city services to district residents, and areconsulted regarding locating city facilities for their respective communities.
Board members must live, work, or have a noteworthy interest in the district, and attend meetings once a month. Applications are due by Feb 15.
