Harav Yehoshua Schiff, zt”l
On Erev Shabbos, 17 Shevat, the olam haTorah suffered a major loss with the petirah of Harav Yehoshua Schiff, Rosh Yeshivah of Yeshivah Bais Shraga in Monsey, where he was marbitz Torah to talmidim for over 50 years.
In his youth Rav Schiff learned in Yeshivah Torah Vodaath and became a son-in-law of its Menahel, Harav Shraga Feivel Mendlowitz, zt”l, having married his daughter Shulamis.
The levayah took place on Friday in Monsey.
A longer tribute is planned for a future edition of Hamodia.
