Family Dollar Recalls 254,000 Toy Trucks

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (The Charlotte Observer/TNS) —

Family Dollar is recalling toy metal cars purchased at its stores from September through December 2014.

“Tough Treadz Auto Carriers” pose a “laceration hazard,” the retailer said in a statement Wednesday. The trucks, which are sold exclusively at Family Dollar for $5, are about 14 inches long and come in black, blue or red. The recall affects about 254,000 toys, the discount store said.

“Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled toy sets, take them away and return them to any Family Dollar Stores location for a full refund,” the company said. No injuries have been reported.

Customers can get more information on the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission recall from Family Dollar’s website or by calling the company at 800-547-0359.
