Italy Investigating A Dozen on Terror Suspicions
The Italian news agency ANSA and the state-run RAI network say that prosecutors in Rome are investigating a dozen foreigners living in Italy on terrorism-related charges.
ANSA, RAI and other Italian media reported Tuesday, citing no named sources, that the suspects were identified through Internet traffic tied to Islamic fundamentalist and extremist sites. ANSA said the suspects are not believed to be part of an organized cell. They are being investigated for subversive association with the aim of terrorism.
Italian security officials have raised the level of alert in Italy since terror attacks in Paris killed 17 people.
