Cuomo to Combine Budget, State of the State Address
Gov. Andrew Cuomo will use his annual State of the State address to also discuss his proposals for next year’s state budget, he announced Monday.
Cuomo will deliver a single address to lawmakers and interested members of the public on Jan. 21 at the Empire State Plaza convention center in Albany. The speech will also describe his state budget proposal, which will be released on the same day.
Cuomo is calling the joint address the “New York State of Opportunity Agenda.”
Cuomo had planned to deliver his State of the State address last week but delayed the address after the death of his father, former Gov. Mario Cuomo.
Traditionally, the governor unveils his state budget recommendation separately from his State of the State.
