Wounded NYPD Officer Released From Hospital
One of the two police officers wounded in a Bronx shooting was released from the hospital on Wednesday to a blue honor guard of fellow officers.
The officers cheered as Aliro Pellerano got out of his wheelchair and walked to a police van outside St. Barnabas Hospital.
Pellerano was shot in the abdomen and arm late Monday while responding to a robbery call. Officer Andrew Dossi was hit in the arm and lower back. The NYPD’s chief surgeon says he will need extensive therapy.
The suspects are expected to be arraigned later Wednesday.
