Poll: Most Voters Oppose Garner Decision

NEW YORK (AP) —

A new poll finds that two-thirds of New York City voters disagree with the Staten Island grand jury’s decision to not indict a police officer for the chokehold death of Eric Garner.

The Quinnipiac University poll released Wednesday also revealed that 60 percent of voters approve of Mayor Bill de Blasio’s handling of the resulting protests.

Police Commissioner William Bratton’s approval rating is at 44 percent. The poll surveyed 1,374 New Yorkers with a margin of error of three percentage points.
